REID HOFFMAN is an entrepreneur and investor. In 1998, Reid Hoffman was a founding Board member and executive vice president of PayPal. In 2003, he co-founded LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional networking service. He currently serves on the boards of Airbnb, Apollo Fusion, Aurora, Coda, Convoy, Entrepreneur First, Gixo, Microsoft, Nauto, and Xapo, as well as not-for-profits Kiva, Endeavor, CZI Biohub and Do Something. He hosts Masters of Scale, an original podcast series. He is also the co-author of two New York Times best-selling books: The Start-Up of You and The Alliance. I've purchased this book as a fan of Reid's podcast "Masters of Scale", but never read his two previous books (Startup in You, The Alliance). So I had no idea what to expect, if it would be a summary of his podcast episodes or a unique reading experience. The latter one was what I got and it was a great experience. Reid Hoffman, who co-founded Paypal and LinkedIn, shares the blueprint for a way how you theoretically can start a company and make it a unicorn simply by turning on the turbo through investing and smart scaling.But this is not only about blitzscaling - and Reid underlines that blitzscaling doesn't work all the time - but also about management and strategies. And in times when we are talking about diversity and respect at your work place Reid has the right message: care about ethics, don't live/work within a bubble and hire people who are like you.Reid Hoffman is one of the best known, most respected faces of Silicon Valley. And he is not only spreading a way to boost your startup, but also shares idea of a better corporate culture you shouldn't miss.
